Good Company's event held at Cafe Fais Do-Do was simply jazzy, as a good friend of mine would put it. The location Cafe Fais Do-Do gave me a soultry Afro-Cuban vibe and I loved it. The people working at the door were laid back and welcoming. I walked in feeling like I owned the joint. A comfortable amount of people and the DJ! Shout out to DJ J-HYPHEN for feeding my musical soul.
Honey, stop what you doing right now and toast whatever drink you have in your cup to the homie! He was killing it. He played a mixture of Trap, Soul, Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B and obscure songs I fancied myself the only person on earth to know. This event was put on by both J-Hyphen andthe melanin-poppin-ass, hair on fleek, black girl magic having, performer Neijah Lanae. She was also one of the performers. She Dope y'all. No questions, check her music out, I'm a fan. Beautiful voice, beautiful sista, and her lyrics had me back in college thinking bout my first love and our long distance relationship, shorty!
The second act, a set of Jamaican American twins NICK & NAVI, had me slow winding and dreaming bout COCO BREAD. They were LIT., had me movin, ya'll. Nick & Navi gave me a Reggae/Neo-Soul/R&B feel that had me forget where I was and that I was hot . I just wanted to move my body.
The last act, YMTK, HAD ME TTURNT. SHORTY and had me homesick. I'm not originally from the BAY but it had been my home for some time. He was hella cool, man. His stage presence was top notch. Also, YMTK was a total ham on stage had everybody geeking in the audience. I even spoke to him after and he was a humble cool-ass dude., He even has a single featured in the new movie "Kicks", so check it out.
All in all, I truly enjoyed my experience and truly enjoyed the love and feels I experienced. And I'll be at the next event and probably every event after. Good Company, y'all, was some good ass company. Real Talk!
